Alexandra Boltasseva

Prof. Boltasseva’s team specializes in nanophotonics and nanotechnology focusing on optical metamaterials, nanoscale optics, plasmonics, nanofabrication and quantum photonics. The central theme of Boltasseva’s research is to find new ways for realization of nanophotonic devices – from material building blocks to advanced designs and demonstrations. Prof. Boltasseva’s team aims at developing new designs and technological platforms to enable new generations of low-loss, tunable, reconfigurable, semiconductor-compatible devices for applications in on-chip optics and optoelectronics, information processing, data storage, nanoscale light manipulation, sensing, imaging, energy conversion and emerging quantum technologies.
