Hossein Alijani completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at RMIT University in 2023. His research was focused on synthesis and modulation of 2D materials with high-frequency acoustic waves. He used surface reflective bulk waves (SRBWs) to synthesise pristine Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets and quantum dots, and to remove oxide layers from MXene thin films to recover their electrical and electrochemical properties. He also worked on modulation of metal chalcogenides with surface acoustic waves (SAWs) to enhance photodetection performance of SnS2, in addition to reversibly lowering its band gap to allow NIR detection. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Technology Sydney, where he is working on electron beam and focused ion beam (FIB) processing of 2D materials and quantum emitters.

Current Projects
