Mary Gray

In 2013, Mary Gray graduated with a PhD in the field of human genetics from the University of Otago, New Zealand. That same year Mary moved to Canberra, Australia to become the Manager of the Dementia Australia Research Foundation. From there, Mary moved to The Australian National University (ANU) in 2014, to work in the College of Science Research Office. Over the years, she has performed various roles at ANU, applying for research funding and supporting the management of grants through to research strategy and researcher development.

Mary has won several prizes and scholarships for her work at ANU, including the INORMS Travel Award that supported her to present her work at a research management conference in Edinburgh. In 2019, Mary finished a postgraduate certificate in creative non-fiction writing, which combines two of her passions – science and writing. In 2019, Mary began supporting TMOS with start-up activities and became Chief Operations Officer formally in April 2020.
