Mr. Pranjal Nobel Mukherji just finished his 5 year integrated Masters in Photonics from Cochin University of Science and Technology,India. His Master Thesis was on Defect Studies of GaAs using Deep Level Transient Spectroscopy which he undertook post joining as a visiting research student at MRG, University of Western Australia from 5th December 2023 till present under Prof. Lorenzo Faraone and Asso. Prof. Gilberto A. Umana Membreno. Previous to this he was a recipient of the Vidya and Chennupati Jagadish visiting scholarship to undertake a research project on p-type transparent conducting oxides at Research School of Physics, The Australian National University. He is looking forward to undertake his doctoral studies and at present he just started to work on MCT based Avalanche Photodiodes. During Mr. Mukherji’s time in Engineering and Research he wishes to solve complex problems and usually likes to do things using first principles which became very useful for his research career till now. He wants to put all his previous experiences to use when his PhD commences. Apart from research you would find him developing his point of view on various diverse topics like geo-politics, finance, religion, etc. Outside of office hours he likes to do running and plays table tennis which acts as a stress buster for him while doing research.
