Profile

Sejeong Kim

Dr. Sejeong Kim is a physicist and engineer who is passionate about investigating photons at nanoscale.

Dr. Kim is a lecturer at the University of Melbourne. She completed her PhD studies at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2014, before holding a post-doctoral position at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her research interests are photonic cavities, plasmonics, quantum emitters, and valleytronics using various light-emitting materials.

Her Melbourne Integrated Nanophotonics Engineering (MINE) lab’s mission is to discover fundamental properties of light at the nanoscale and to engineer light using the power of nanotechnology. It is an exciting area of research as well as a multidisciplinary field of study that brings together experts from physics, materials science, chemistry, and engineering.
